We have tried each weekend to ‘get the perfect poached egg’ as seen on the ad however without any luck! The first time we tried following the instructions on the ad (cold water and one minute thirty seconds in the microwave) the egg whites ran through the grooves in the basket and the egg would not roll out of the basket as seen in the ad. Also the egg white appeared to have in part dissolved into the water making the water opaque. On reading reviews it was suggested to use hot water to solidify the egg white to prevent it running through the grooves. This we did and reduced the cooking time to one minute fifteen seconds. Egg whites cooking okay.. ish with still some going through the grooves however egg yolks solid with egg white still stuck in grooves and with water still opaque! This morning we tried again with hot water and reduced time however after one minute cooking in the microwave the one egg exploded! Having looked once again on line for guidance we tried using the egg poacher in a pan of simmering water with a lid on the pan. After eight minutes the eggs were cooked however the egg white still went through the grooves and we could not roll the egg out of the basket as seen on the ad! Has the ad been edited with egg loosened before the ‘roll out’ and the poaching basket cleaned with egg then placed back in the basket? The shape of the egg on the toast is near perfect the shape of he basket however no grooves seen in the egg white! We never see the water in the poacher to see if there is egg white floating? Please can someone give guidance as to how to achieve the ‘perfect poached egg’ using this egg poacher!Reply
